INTRODUCING THE 1972 ISSUE
In its biggest—and most ambitious—issue yet, Museum’s latest edition takes a single, blockbuster year and themes every single page around it.
Released on 5 March, the 1972 issue is both throwback and super contemporary, be it fashion that looks to Apollo-era euphoria, an interview with the inventor of seminal video game Pong, or profiles of mega and emerging artists from Joan Jonas to Ghada Amer and Reza Farkhondeh, Oliver Beer, Penny Slinger and Svay Sareth.
There are also essays on documenta 5, first apartments and the actress Maria Schneider, and 110 pages of brand new fashion imagery. The two covers feature British artists Gilbert & George, photographed in and around their London home by Jack Davison.
